Abstract
Manual giving an overview of the main categories of import regulations that exporters of organic agricultural products from West Africa have to meet when they export to major markets (United States, European Union, Japan) - reviews main voluntary certification schemes; highlights the importance of these schemes, the difference between these programmes as well as their advantages and constraints; provides information on the main import regulations in the United States, the European Union and Japan; includes contacts where more information on import regulations and certification schemes can be found.

Relevance to our study:
This paper state that producer need to ensure the quality and safety of produce and to avoid potential risk hazardss. In respond to product tracing through production, processing and distribution in order to recall efficiently in case of contamination. This shows that quality certification and inspection builds consumers’ trust, that what they are consuming is really organic.
