Abstract
This overview report accompanies and draws from a set of tencase studies that were developed in 2008 through the “Governmental Use of Voluntary Standards” project.The case studies map the diversity of good practice collaborations that exist in how governments and public authorities use voluntary standards to deliver on their own public policy objectives.The report aims to provide an overview of the models ofengagement identified through ten different case studies about the diversity of good practice collaboration that exist in how government and public authorities use voluntary standards to deliver on their own public policy objectives, as well as start to draw some lessons that may be applicable to other governments, and be of interest to those involved in exploring how to strengthen global governance towards improved sustainability outcomes.
